New Ship Joining Riviera Travel’s Fleet in 2028

riviera rhapsody

Riviera Travel has announced the addition of a new ship to its Radiance Class fleet.

The Riviera Rhapsody is set debut on April 1, 2028, starting with the Bruges, Medeival Flanders, Amsterdam & The Dutch Bulbfields itinerary along Dutch waterways.

It will then reposition to the Rhine River in summer to sail a range of river cruise itineraries, including Rhine Cruise to Switzerland, the company said in a statement.

“Riviera Rhapsody represents an exciting expansion of our Radiance Class fleet and our continued investment in the North American market,” said Stuart Milan, president of North America for Riviera Travel.

“Her name reflects a spirited and expressive sense of travel, capturing the emotional connection and sense of discovery that define Riviera Travel’s European river cruise experiences. As demand continues to grow among North American travelers for elevated river cruising, this new ship delivers the modern design, comfort, and immersive itineraries they’re looking for.”

Two of her sister ships, the Riviera Radiance and Riviera Resplendence, are set to launch this summer, followed by a third, the Riviera Reflection, in September 2027.

The Riviera Rhapsody will feature what the cruise line says are open spaces, high ceilings and a split-level, residential-style layout.

Three onboard restaurants are planned – the main restaurant on the Ruby deck, the Riverview Bistro at the back of the Diamond deck and Mosaic on the Emerald deck.

Guests will be able to stay in 89 cabins across three decks.

The 344-square-foot Grand Suites on the Diamond deck will feature a separate living area, king-size bed and private balcony with outdoor seating.

The 258-square-foot Superior Suites will have floor-to-ceiling French balconies and a dedicated sitting area.

At 172 square feet, standard staterooms will feature French balconies and indoor seating areas, while lower-deck cabins will have fixed windows to keep the space bright.
