Herschel Walker, the 14th United States Ambassador to the Commonwealth of The Bahamas, paid a courtesy call and site visit to Nassau Cruise Port last week.

According to a statement, the Port’s team gave the Ambassador and his wife, Julie Blanchard Walker, a tour of the piers and operational facilities.

The visit also included a stop at the Bahamas Museum of Junkanoo, where Ambassador Walker had an immersive experience of the island’s cultural heritage by trying his hand at goatskin drumming.

“We were honored to welcome Ambassador Walker to Nassau Cruise Port. The relationship between The Bahamas and the United States is incredibly special, and we are proud to play a role in strengthening that connection every day,” said Mike Maura, Jr., CEO & director of Nassau Cruise Port.

“We take our responsibility seriously in safely welcoming and delivering an exceptional experience to the thousands of U.S. visitors who pass through our port daily, while also showcasing the best of Bahamian culture and hospitality.”
