Miray Cruises is launching its 2026 season later than scheduled, with its single ship, the Gemini, still in layup in Greece.
After spending the past winter out of service, the 1992-built ship was set to offer itineraries departing from Turkey for the summer.
According to Miray’s website, the first sailing of the season was scheduled to depart from the Port of Kusadasi on May 24, 2026.
Instead of welcoming guests onboard, the 960-passenger vessel is currently anchored in the Bay of Karystos, on the Greek Island of Euboea, where it arrived in early May.
While no official statement has been issued by the company at this time, Miray’s website now shows the July 2cruise as the first of the season.
In addition to short cruises to the Greek Islands, the Gemini is also scheduled to offer longer itineraries to the Black Sea in 2026.
As previously reported by Cruise Industry News, Miray is planning to offer eight cruises to the region between July and September.
Sailing from Istanbul, the seven-night itineraries feature visits to destinations in Turkey, Russia and Georgia, including Sochi, Batumi, Trabzon and Amasra.
The vessel is then scheduled to return to Kusadasi for additional short cruises to Greece between mid-September and late October.
While further details of the deployment are not available on the company’s website, Miray is also planning to offer five-night itineraries to Egypt and Turkey during the 2026-27 winter season.
Acquired by the Turkish company in 2020, the Gemini was originally built for Crown Cruise Lines at the Union Naval de Levante Shipyard in Spain.
The 20,000-ton ship sailed for a range of brands during its career, including Cunard, Star, Quail and Celestyal.
