Marella Cruises has expanded its Mediterranean excursion program with nine new offerings, including providing guests with the chance to ride a tuk-tuk through Olbia in Sardinia and experience a food tour in Athens.

“By expanding our Mediterranean excursion program, we’re offering even more opportunities to explore iconic locations across Greece and Italy through unique, immersive experiences, from discovering Athens through its flavors to taking in Sardinia by tuk-tuk,” added Hackney.

“With Marella Discovery 2’s sailings from Palma this summer, these new excursions are designed to give customers greater choice and unforgettable moments ashore.” 

The company said in a press release that the new excursions are available to purchase onboard each ship at the Destinations Services desk or on Cruise Control before guests board their cruise.

Excursion highlights include the following:

The Essence of Olbia by Tuk-Tuk

Guests can hop aboard an authentic tuk-tuk and explore Olbia, visiting the historic center and landmarks such as the granite-built Basilica of San Simplicio, the Church of San Paolo and Parco Fausto Noce.

Pre-booked price: £68 per adult and £68 per child.

Pompeii, Ravello & Amalfi – Scenic Minivan Tour

Guests will explore southern Italy in one day on a small-group minivan tour. Departing from Naples, the experience features Pompeii, Ravello and Amalfi.

Pre-booked price: £144 per adult and £104 per child.

A Taste of Athens

The relaxed walking and tasting tour will allow guests to travel from Piraeus with a city drive, taking in ancient landmarks and grand squares before arriving in the capital.

The experience features Plaka, as well as sample traditional favorites such as savory Greek pies, classic Greek coffee, loukoumi and freshly made souvlaki.

Pre-booked price: £64 per adult and £34 per child.
