The Koningsdam recently completed its 10th year of service for Holland America Line after being delivered on March 31, 2016.
Constructed in Italy by Fincantieri’s Marghera Shipyard, the 99,500-ton vessel debuted as the first in the company’s Pinnacle class.
As the largest ship ever built for Holland America, the Koningsdam spent its inaugural season sailing in Northern Europe.
Following naming festivities, the 2,660-passenger vessel arrived at its first homeport in Amsterdam in May 2016.
Sailing from the Dutch port, the ship offered a series of itineraries to Northern Europe and the Baltic before repositioning to the Mediterranean in September 2016.
The Koningsdam later crossed the Atlantic for the first time, debuting in Fort Lauderdale for a winter season in the Caribbean.
In 2022, the ship repositioned to the West Coast, kicking off its first-ever summer season in Alaska and Canada.
Having returned to the region earlier this year, the vessel is currently offering cruises to Alaska departing from Vancouver.
In October 2026, the Koningsdam will arrive in San Diego for seven- to 18-night itineraries to the Mexican Riviera and Hawaii.
In early 2027, the vessel is also scheduled to offer a 35-night cruise to the South Pacific as part of Holland America’s Legendary Voyages program.
The itinerary features visits to ten destinations across Hawaii, French Polynesia and Kiribati, including Fanning Island, Tahiti, Honolulu and Nuku Hiva.
Earlier this year, the Koningsdam debuted new staterooms and enhanced public rooms following a drydock at the Grand Bahama Shipyard.
Among the new features of the ship are additional larger oceanview cabins, as well as refreshed live music venues, an expanded casino and a new Effy shop.
Holland America said that the new staterooms were designed for groups travelling together and accommodate up to four guests.
