Holland America Line is introducing year-round cruising in Europe, extending its 2027–28 season through winter.
The Nieuw Statendam will remain in Europe year-round and sail a dozen cruises across the Mediterranean and Northern Europe, and two additional voyages aboard the Zuiderdam will be added, the cruise line revealed in a statement.
“Europe continues to be one of the most sought-after destinations for our guests, and as a cruise line with Dutch roots, it’s a region we know incredibly well,” said Paul Grigsby, vice president of deployment and itinerary planning for Holland America Line.
“Expanding to year-round Europe allows us to showcase a completely different side of the destination—one that is quieter, more immersive and deeply seasonal. From the festive charm of Christmas markets to a cooler and more relaxed Mediterranean region, winter offers a more authentic way to experience Europe.”
Two holiday options aimed at immersing guests in Europe during the festive season are available, with 13- and 15-day cruises sailing roundtrip from Rotterdam.
Beyond this, guests will be able to explore the Mediterranean at a slower pace, with smaller crowds and lower temperatures, during one of the seven- to 14-day voyages.
These can be individual or combined into more expansive journeys, such as Collectors’ Voyages that span up to 24 days and can be sailed back-to-back.
