The 2026 cruise season in the three northeastern provinces in China officially started on May 12 as the 105,000-ton Vision made its maiden departure from Dalian Port, carrying approximately 3,300 passengers.
The Vision, operated by Tianjin Oriental International Cruise Company, is the first vessel over 100,000 tons to use Dalian as its homeport. It set sail on a four-night voyage to Incheon and Jeju in South Korea.
Tianjin Oriental entered the cruise market in 2022 by acquiring and operating the 77,500-ton Dream. The company further expanded its fleet by purchasing the former Costa Magica in late 2025.
The deployment of the Visio to Dalian represents a strategic move to tap into the growing demand in the three northeastern provinces’ cruise market, following its debut in Tianjin in March 2026.
To ensure efficient processing for the large passenger volume, Dalian Bay Customs implemented tailored “one ship, one policy” services and added a new swift “declare, review, release” process.
For the 2026 season, Dalian Port is scheduled to host 10 turnaround calls, including sailings by the Visio and the Adora Mediterranea, along with two port-of-call visits by other cruise ships.
