The global cruise ship orderbook now totals some $90 billion in newbuild orders through 2039, according to the latest update from Cruise Industry News.
Five more ships were ordered during the month of April, including a trio for Princess Cruises from Fincantieri, and two more Icon-class ships for Royal Caribbean International from Meyer Turku.
The Icon ships are slated for delivery in 2029 and 2030 and the Princess ships are set to enter service in 2025, 2038 and 2039.

Out of the major cruise operators, Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings still has the biggest forward-looking orderbook on a ship basis, with 17 newbuilds and 47,000 berths through 2037.
MSC comes next with 14 ships set to enter service across two brands, and over 52,000 new berths through 2033.
Then comes Royal Caribbean Group with orders for 12 ships for three brands through 2032, totaling 49,000 berths.
Carnival Corporation’s orderbook extends through 2039 with 10 ships for three brands (Carnival, AIDA and Princess,) and adds up to approximately 52,000 new berths.
