Alcoholic Beverages Temporarily Not Available at Disney’s Lookout Cay

Disney Fantasy

Disney Cruise Line will temporarily suspend the sale of alcoholic beverages at its private destination of Lookout Cay at Lighthouse Point.

According to a statement issued by the company, drinks will not be available for guests visiting the port on May 12, 2026.

Joining Royal Caribbean and MSC, which announced similar temporary bans, Disney said that the change is related to the Bahamian General Election.

“The Bahamas issued a public notice prohibiting the sale of alcohol on Tuesday, May 12, 2026,” the company noted.

“To accommodate and respect this public notice, alcoholic beverages will not be available for purchase that day,” Disney added.

Offering a five-night cruise to the Bahamas, the Disney Fantasy is scheduled to visit Lookout Cay at Lighthouse Point on May 12.

In addition to the private island destination, the itinerary also includes a visit to Nassau before returning to Port Canaveral.

Disney added that guests onboard will still be able to purchase alcoholic beverages at its shipboard locations.

The company noted that bars on Lookout Cay at Lighthouse Point will remain open for non-alcoholic beverage sales.

“We appreciate your understanding regarding this change and look forward to providing you with an enjoyable sailing,” Disney added in the statement, which was issued just before the cruise.

As previously reported by Cruise Industry News, MSC Cruises and Royal Caribbean announced similar decisions over the past week.

The first advised guests sailing onboard the MSC Seashore that alcoholic beverages won’t be available on Ocean Cay MSC Marine Reserve on May 12.

Royal Caribbean also issued a notice to inform passengers of two ships that alcoholic beverages will not be served in Perfect Day on CocoCay on Tuesday.

The public notice is also expected to affect ships visiting traditional cruise ports in the Bahamas, including Nassau.

Five ships are scheduled to dock at the destination on May 12, including the Caribbean Princess, the MSC Seaside and the Utopia of the Seas.
