Royal Caribbean International is redeploying the trans-Atlantic crossing scheduled to take place onboard the Mariner of the Seas in April 2027.
According to a statement sent to booked guests, the ship is no longer able to offer a 15-night cruise from New Orleans to Southampton.
“As part of our ongoing itinerary planning process, which sometimes requires flexibility due to scheduling, port agreements or operational needs, the Mariner of the Seas will be redeployed for our Summer 2027 season,” Royal Caribbean explained.
Instead of offering the original itinerary, the Voyager-class vessel will now operate a 17-night repositioning voyage to the Mediterranean.
The trans-Atlantic cruise will depart from New Orleans on April 24, 2027, before heading to destinations in Florida, Spain and Morocco.
Sailing to Barcelona, the new itinerary also features visits to Miami, Casablanca, Tangier, Cadiz and Málaga.
Guests with bookings on the original trans-Atlantic crossing are being offered four options, including moving their reservations to the new sailing.
In this case, the original stateroom category price will either be protected at guests’ original cruise fare rate or reduced to the current cruise fare rate (whichever is lower).
Passengers will also be able to rebook a 12-night trans-Atlantic cruise onboard the Freedom of the Seas.
The itinerary sails from PortMiami on April 27, 2026, and heads to Southampton following visits to Bermuda and the Azores.
Royal Caribbean said that cruise fares will either be adjusted to the new cruise fare rate or prorated for the change in sailing nights, whichever option results in a lesser fare, and any overage will be refunded.
Passengers will also be able to move their bookings to any other Royal Caribbean sailing with waived non-refundable deposit change fees.
The company is also offering passengers the option of cancelling their bookings for a full refund of the cruise fare and any pre-paid amenities.
As reported by Cruise Industry News earlier this month, Royal Caribbean is swapping ships for its 2027 summer season in the United Kingdom.
Originally scheduled to sail from Southampton during the timeframe, the Mariner will be replaced by the Freedom of the Seas.
