MSC to Open New Private Island in 2028

msc 2028 island destination

MSC Group’s Cruise Division has introduced Sandy Cay, a new luxury private island destination located next to Ocean Cay MSC Marine Reserve in The Bahamas. The destination is set to open in 2028.

The company said in a press release that the island is designed for MSC Cruises and Explora Journeys guests.

MSC Cruises and Explora Journeys guests will have their first opportunity to experience Sandy Cay in 2028.

According to the press release, Sandy Cay was conceived as a complement to Ocean Cay, offering a more secluded escape with aragonite sands.

In addition, the company recently announced enhancements to Ocean Cay, introducing new facilities and experiences to further enhance the island’s guest experience.

These include additional dining venues, new beach concepts for families and adults, as well as expanded relaxation areas.

According to the press release, the developments reinforce the company’s vision of creating private island destinations that evolve in line with guest expectations while respecting the natural environment.

According to the company’s Instagram post, further details regarding the island will be released in due course.
