Costa Cruises has unveiled its World Cruise 2028, a 139-day journey across five continents and three oceans aboard the Costa Deliziosa.

Setting sail from Savona on November 25, 2027, the ship will call at 51 destinations in 29 countries, including 21 islands, before returning to Savona on April 11, 2028.

In a press release, the cruise line described the journey as blending major global cities, unspoiled nature, ancient cultures and remote ports.

“With the 2028 World Cruise, Costa Cruises offers a truly extraordinary travel experience, designed for those who want to explore the world without haste,” said Luigi Stefanelli, vice president worldwide sales of Costa Cruises.

“It is a proposal that brings together emotion, depth and quality, and reflects our ability to create distinctive, high-value journeys dedicated to world explorers and travelers who want to savor every destination in an authentic way.”

In addition to the full itinerary from Savona, guests can also book a 100-day cruise departing from San Francisco, which includes destinations in Oceania, Asia and Africa, concluding in Savona.

After setting sail from the Mediterranean, the Costa Deliziosa will take guests to North America, with extended stays in New York and Los Angeles, as well as a New Year’s Eve celebration on the Californian coast.

Costa added that Celebration Key, the new private island in the Bahamas, will open for the first time to its guests during the world cruise.

The ship will then go to Hawaii (Hilo and Honolulu), before it continues into Oceania.

It will then explore the coastlines and hills of New Zealand, stopping at destinations such as Tauranga, Auckland and Bay of Islands.

The journey then reaches Australia, with guests staying in Melbourne for two days, the same as in Tokyo once the ship reaches Japan, where it will sail next.

Following stops in South Korea and Hong Kong, the ship will continue traveling through Southeast Asia, visiting destinations such as Langkawi in Malaysia and Phuket in Thailand.

Then it’s time for the Indian Ocean: Sri Lanka, the Maldives and Mauritius, followed by southern Africa – Durban, Port Elizabeth and Cape Town.

After the guests seeing the pink flamingos in Namibia’s Walvis Bay lagoon and Cape Verde, the ship will return to Europe via the Canary Islands, Barcelona and Marseille, before completing the cruise in Savona.

Some of the multi-day overland experiences available during the World Cruise:

  • New Year’s Eve in Los Angeles with a flight over the Grand Canyon
  • landscapes of New Zealand experienced through Māori culture
  • temples of Kyoto and traditional Japanese rituals
  • five-day deep immersion in Southern Africa

Bookings for the World Cruise 2028 aboard the Costa Deliziosa are now open and some places are still left for the 2027 edition, departing from Savona on November 25, 2026.
