United Waterways Teams Up with JRE to Enhance Culinary Experience

MS Serenade

United Waterways is partnering with JRE-Jeunes Restaurateurs to develop young talent and create dishes inspired by European river regions.

The partnership will see emerging culinary professionals onboard United vessels connect with JRE chefs, the company said in a statement, bringing together JRE’s network of over 400 restaurants with United’s fleet of over 120 vessels.

“The collaboration with JRE strengthens our culinary profile in a meaningful and lasting way. It connects talent development, craftsmanship, and strong brands around a shared ambition: exceptional guest experiences and real opportunities for the next generation of chefs,” said Stefan Bloch COO, United Waterways.

As part of the collaboration, JRE chefs will develop recipes inspired by Europe’s river regions, including the Elbe, Rhine, Mosel, Danube, Douro, Seine and Garonne.

In addition, a co-branded culinary guide will be available on select United Waterways vessels, giving guests recommendations for JRE member restaurants along the sailing routes.

“This collaboration offers young chefs unique opportunities to develop their skills and share their craft, while giving guests unforgettable gastronomic experiences both on board and ashore,” noted Nicolai P. Wiedmer, vice president, JRE-Jeunes Restaurateurs.

The cruise line added that the partnership will also extend to Japan through Mitsukoshi Isetan Nikko Travel, Ltd., with which United collaborates in the Japanese cruise market.
