TUI Update on Two Ships in Middle East

  • March 3, 2026
Mein Schiff 4

TUI Cruises shared a new update regarding its operations in the Middle East on Tuesday, March 3, 2026.

In an official statement on its website, the company said it is in close contact with the relevant authorities as well as international security experts.

“The situation remains unchanged at this time. Our guests are still onboard the Mein Schiff 4 and Mein Schiff 5. They are being well cared for and provided for.”

TUI added that onboard operations on both vessels are running normally.

“The travel and safety advisories from the (German) Federal Foreign Office for the region remain unchanged,” the company added.

As such, TUI said that six cruises had to be cancelled, including the departures scheduled for the Mein Schiff 4 on March 1, March 2, March 8, and March 9, 2026.

The February 28 and March 5 sailings onboard the Mein Schiff 5 are no longer going ahead as well.

“All affected guests have already been informed directly by us. Should further adjustments be necessary, we will promptly and proactively reach out to the booked guests,” the company noted.

TUI said that it is also in close contact with airlines to enable reliable planning of return trips for passengers onboard, given the ongoing dynamic situation in the region and limited flight connections.

“As soon as we have reliable information, we will inform the affected guests immediately,” it continued.

“Our top priority remains the safety and well-being of our guests and crew,” TUI added, noting that its crisis team is continuously working in close coordination with relevant authorities.

The company also noted it is working with the security teams of its shareholders, TUI AG and the Royal Caribbean Group, to continuously assess the situation and derive measures from it.

The Mein Schiff 4 and the Mein Schiff 5 were scheduled to offer itineraries from Dubai in the United Arab Emirates and Doha in Qatar.

With its current and upcoming sailings cancelled, the vessels are believed to be docked in Abu Dhabi and Doha, respectively.
