The Ventura recently resumed service for P&O Cruises following a drydock at the Damen Shipyard in Rotterdam, the Netherlands.
According to an update recently shared by the company, the 2008-built vessel welcomed guests back in late February with updated interiors and new features.
P&O said that the ship’s cabins and staterooms were redesigned with new carpets, curtains, bedside lampshades and armchairs in warm, neutral tones.
The suites were also updated with new decorative ceiling lighting, as well as new desks and bedside maps.
Bathrooms and balconies were refreshed, while halls, elevators and stairs also got new carpets, the company added.
The Ventura’s main atrium was also modernized with a new dance floor design featuring marquetry-effect planks, timber coloring and timber finishings.
Other public areas that got updated colors, carpets and designs include the Red Bar, the Tamarind Club, Havana and Metropolis.
The ship’s dining rooms and restaurants were also updated, with Sindhu getting new carpets inspired by the Indian textile art of block printing and Epicurean receiving new upholstery for all of its chairs.
Beach House, Bay Tree and Saffron and the Waterside buffet welcomed new carpets and design elements too.
The 800-seat Arena Theater got a new look inspired by Greek theaters featuring geometric patterns, curved seating and symmetry.
While new retail spaces were created on decks 6 and 7, Ventura’s Oasis Spa and Salon now offers three Japanese head rituals, which, according to P&O, were designed to “relax, restore and elevate hair and scalp health.”
The space also saw the addition of new hair stations, as well as a new look that features geometric tiles softened with gentle detailing and a backdrop created by blending soft neutrals with warm tones.
After resuming service in late February, the Ventura is currently offering a 35-night cruise to the Caribbean and the United States.
Sailing from Southampton, the month-long cruise is highlighted by overnight calls to destinations like New Orleans.
