The Carnival Elation arrived later than scheduled to its homeport in Jacksonville on Monday due to foggy conditions.

According to a statement shared by Carnival Cruise Line, the vessel had to revise embarkation plans as a result.

Guests were asked to delay their terminal arrival appointment by three hours, with new check-in slots set to take place between 1:00 PM and 5:00 PM.

“We must allow debarking guests to leave the cruise terminal and parking facility before we can accommodate your arrival,” the company explained in its letter to guests.

“To ensure a smooth embarkation experience, we kindly ask for your cooperation with adherence to this revised schedule,” Carnival added.

The company noted that guests who arrive earlier were asked to return at their newly assigned time slot, adding that all passengers need to be at the cruise terminal by 5:00 PM.

Sailing roundtrip from Jacksonville, the Carnival Elation is set to depart for a short cruise to the Bahamas.

The five-night itinerary features a visit to Nassau, in addition to a stop at Carnival Cruise Line’s private destination of Celebration Key in Grand Bahama.

As part of its year-round schedule out of North Florida, the 1998-built ship offers a series of short cruises to the Bahamas.

In addition to Nassau and Celebration Key, the itineraries feature visits to a second private destination: Princess Cays.

One of the two Fantasy Class vessels currently sailing for Carnival, the Elation underwent a drydock earlier this year.

As part of its regular maintenance, the vessel became the first to use Grand Bahama Shipyard’s new East End dry dock.

In related news, the Carnival Sunshine also returned late to its homeport in Norfolk on Sunday, Feb. 1, 2026.

According to a statement shared by Carnival, the vessel postponed its arrival in Virginia due to a technical issue.
