Tianjin Oriental Delays Vision’s Maiden Voyage to March

  • February 13, 2026
Vision

Tianjin Oriental International Cruise has postponed the maiden voyage of the Vision to March 3, 2026, from a previously planned mid-February departure.

According to the company, the delay is related to additional refurbishment and technical preparations at the Qingdao Beihai Heavy Industry Shipyard, where the vessel has been undergoing upgrades since arriving in China late last year.

Originally built in 2004 as the Costa Magica for Costa Cruises, the 105,000-ton ship was acquired by Tianjin Oriental International Cruise in November 2025.

Key upgrades include enhancements to passenger areas and mechanical systems, as well as interior changes tailored to Chinese travelers, such as expanded family-friendly spaces and additional dining options.

The Vision set to operate from Tianjin , offering six-day, five-night itineraries to South Korea with stops in Busan, Jeju and Incheon. The cruises are designed around visa-free travel for Chinese passengers.

Bookings for the March and April sailings are available, with prices starting at CNY 2,499 for interior cabins. The company is targeting multi-generational families and first-time cruise passengers, with all-inclusive packages and Chinese-language services.
