Silversea Kicks Off 2026 World Cruise on Silver Dawn

  • January 7, 2026
Silver Dawn

Silversea’s “The Curious and the Sea” world cruise is now underway, the company announced in a press release.

According to the statement, the voyage will be the most diverse and immersive in the brand’s history, sailing to six continents.

Taking place onboard the Silver Dawn, the 140-night cruise will feature visits to 59 destinations across 40 countries.

“With ‘The Curious and the Sea,’ we have created a journey that celebrates the essence of exploration,” said Bert Hernandez, president of Silversea.

“From exclusive cultural celebrations to extraordinary culinary moments, this voyage is designed to spark curiosity and deepen connections with the world’s diverse cultures and landscapes, all delivered with the personalized service that defines Silversea,” he added.

Silversea’s 2026 World Cruise started at Port Everglades in Fort Lauderdale on January 6, 2026. Before boarding the Silver Dawn, guests were invited to an evening of celebration at the Boca Raton hotel.

As part of the company’s exclusive Bon Voyage initiative, the event featured a 1920s theme inspired by the resort’s 100-year anniversary, complete with music of the jazz age.

World Cruise guests are now setting sail toward Central America, leading to the Panama Canal before visiting Ecuador and Peru.

Easter Island, French Polynesia and the South Pacific will follow, with passengers exploring New Zealand and, in a first for a Silversea World Cruise, taking part in a semi-circumnavigation of Australia.

The Silver Dawn will then explore Southeast Asia, crossing the Bay of Bengal to Sri Lanka and India before delving into the landscapes of South Africa and the continent’s west coast.

Silversea said that the journey ends with European history and culture, concluding in Lisbon, Portugal, on May 27, 2026.

In addition to visiting a wide range of destinations around the world, guests onboard “The Curious and the Sea” will be able to take part in a series of exclusive events.

The agenda includes the “Polynesian Dreams” celebration in French Polynesia on February 7, 2026, which will allow passengers to visit the sacred island of Motu Tapu.

Once reserved for the monarchies who ruled Tahiti, the area will welcome travelers for an event that features opportunities to sample local flavors, learn traditional dances and capture the spirit of the islands.

Other events include “The Exotic Marigold and More,” which is set to take place during Silver Dawn’s visit to the Indian port of Cochin on April 12, 2026.

According to Silversea, the program starts with a tuk-tuk ride through the town’s streets, followed by showcases of Kerala’s cultural artistry, such as flower garlands.

Guests will also watch drumming and martial arts performances before having a traditional Sadhya lunch on banana leaves. The day continues with a cruise through Cochin’s backwaters.

The company is also organizing the ”Diamonds are Forever” reception during the visit to Cape Town, South Africa, on May 3, 2026.

Taking place at the Vergelegen Conservatory, the event is described as “an elegant evening inspired by the Cullinan Diamond,” featuring a menu by Michelin-starred chef Jan Hendrik van der Westhuizen, as well as orchestral music and swing band performances.

Before returning to Fort Lauderdale, the cruise also includes the “Feast of Flowers” tour at the Portuguese island of Madeira.

The event starts in Funchal on May 23, 2026, and includes a visit to the town’s Central Market during the annual Flower Festival.

Guests will then be welcomed to Quinta Magnolia for a garden reception featuring local artisanal products, a live folk band and a four-course dinner.

Silversea said that the “Curious and the Sea” cruise includes additional enrichments, such as a partnership with guest chefs and local culinary ambassadors aimed at elevating the culinary experience for guests.

They will introduce tasting menus and onboard experiences, such as S.A.L.T. Talks and S.A.L.T. Lab classes, across five ports of call, such as Lima, Melbourne and Singapore.

Guests onboard will also enjoy performances by the Tommy Dorsey orchestra, which is described as “one of the best all-around dance bands.”

Silversea also highlighted its two upcoming world voyages, which will feature different itineraries in 2027 and 2028.

Sailing onboard the Silver Dawn in 2027, “The Three Oceans” will explore destinations in the Pacific, Indian and Atlantic Oceans.

The company said that the itinerary will focus on the cultures, histories and ideas of each, with a series of exclusive events that include a Ho’olaule’a sunset celebration honoring Polynesian culture and a visit to Africa’s Victoria Falls.

To be operated by the Silver Shadow, “An Ode to the Moment” world cruise will sail from Miami in 2028.

Marking the first time that such a voyage sails from the South Florida homeport, the itinerary will explore the cultures and histories of the Caribbean, South America, Africa, the Middle East and Europe, connecting over 30 UNESCO World Heritage Sites.
