  • December 18, 2025
Norwegian Prima

As part of its recently announced 2027-28 deployment, Norwegian Cruise Line will offer over 370 cruises to destinations across the Caribbean, the Bahamas, the Mexican Riviera, Asia, Australia and New Zealand.

Cruise Industry News takes a closer look at the company’s plans for the season, which runs between September 2027 and April 2028.

Two Prima-Class Ships in Puerto Rico

The 2027-28 season will be highlighted by an expansion of operations out of Puerto Rico, with two of the company’s newest ships sailing from San Juan.

Norwegian said that the Norwegian Prima and the Norwegian Viva will offer two different itineraries departing from the port on Saturdays and Sundays, respectively.

Sailing to the Southern Caribbean, the ships’ itineraries feature visits to destinations like Curaçao, Aruba, St. Thomas, Barbados and St. Lucia.

Seven Ships from Florida

Seven Norwegian ships will sail from homeports in Florida during the 2027-28 winter season, including the Norwegian Luna.

One of the newest ships in the company’s fleet, the Prima-class vessel will be joined by the Norwegian Joy and the Norwegian Jewel for cruises departing from Miami.

The vessels’ schedules feature a mix of short cruises to the Bahamas, as well as extended sailings to the Caribbean and the Panama Canal.

The Norwegian Aqua, the Norwegian Breakaway and the Norwegian Epic will sail from Port Canaveral during the season for a series of four- to seven-night cruises to the Caribbean and the Bahamas.

For a second consecutive season, the Norwegian Dawn returns to Jacksonville for four- to five-night itineraries to the Bahamas.

Norwegian noted that many of its cruises from Florida feature visits to its private island destination of Great Stirrup Cay, which is currently undergoing a major refurbishment.

Year-Round Deployment from Philadelphia

After marking the return of cruise operations to Philadelphia in April 2026, Norwegian will continue to offer year-round service from the port in 2027-28.

Sailing from the new SouthPort Marine Complex cruise terminal, the Norwegian Pearl will offer five- to 12-night itineraries to Bermuda and the Bahamas, as well as the Eastern and Southern Caribbean.

The cruises are highlighted by visits to Great Bahama Island, as well as Bermuda’s Royal Naval Dockyard and Jacksonville in Florida. Other ports of call set to be visited include St. Maarten, Barbados and Antigua.

Western Caribbean from New Orleans and Galveston

Between November 2027 and April 2028, two Norwegian ships will sail to the Western Caribbean from Gulf Coast cities.

The Norwegian Escape will homeport in Galveston for seven-night cruises to destinations in Mexico, Honduras and Belize, such as Cozumel, Roatán and Harvest Caye.

Offering a similar weeklong itinerary, the Norwegian Getaway is scheduled to depart from New Orleans every Sunday.

Norwegian highlighted the visits to Harvest Caye, which was described as a resort-style private destination off the Belizean coast that delivers “a perfect blend of culture, adventure and relaxation.”

Mexican Riviera from Los Angeles

The Norwegian Encore will be based on the West Coast for the winter, offering a series of seven-night cruises to the Mexican Riviera.

With departures scheduled between October 2027 and April 2028, the ship’s regular itinerary departs from Los Angeles on Sundays and features visits to Cabo San Lucas, Mazatlán and Puerto Vallarta.

Japan and Southeast Asia onboard the Norwegian Jade

The Norwegian Jade will return to Asia in 2027-28 for a series of nine- to 14-night cruises departing from eight homeports.

Extending between October 2027 and April 2028, the deployment features itineraries to 20 destinations in Japan, South Korea, Singapore, Hong Kong, Thailand, Malaysia, and more.

Other highlights of the season in the region include visits to Coron and Puerto Princesa in the Philippines.
