The Pacific Adventure sailed from Sydney on Mar. 10, 2025, for its final voyage under the P&O Cruises Australia banner.

As the company prepares to shut down and transfer its ships to Carnival Cruise Line, the cruise also marks final sailing of P&O Australia.

After departing from Sydney, the Pacific Adventure was scheduled to offer a four-night cruise to Moreton Island.

The itinerary, however, had to be changed due to Tropical Cyclone Alfred, which hit the region over this past weekend.

Instead of heading north for Moreton Island, the ship is now sailing to Eden before returning to Sydney on Mar. 14, 2025.

Upon completing the cruise, the Pacific Adventure is set to undergo a tech upgrade and rebranding process before joining Carnival Cruise Line’s fleet.

Set to welcome guests back later this month, the ship will continue to sail from Sydney as the Carnival Adventure.

After handing over the Pacific Explorer to Resorts World Cruises in February, P&O’s fleet currently includes two ships.

Initially scheduled to offer a farewell cruise to the South Pacific Islands departing from Brisbane, the Pacific Encounter ended its career for the company earlier.

Set to depart from the homeport on Mar. 8, 2025, the ship’s final voyage had to be cancelled due to Tropical Cyclone Alfred.

With its return to Brisbane delayed due to port closures, the Encounter is currently expected at its homeport on Mar. 11, 2025.

The vessel is also set to undergo a tech update and rebranding process before entering service for Carnival later this month as the Carnival Encounter.

P&O Australia’s shutdown and the ships moving into Carnival Cruise Line was first announced in June 2024.

Part of a strategy to increase capacity for Carnival Corporation’s highest-returning brand, the move also included the sale of the Pacific Explorer.
