The Mitsui Ocean Fuji recently arrived in South America as part of a 91-night cruise that sailed from Japan earlier this year.
As part of a charter operation, the former Seabourn Odyssey sailed from the port of Yokohama on January 9, 2025.
Sailing for travel operator JTB, the 458-guest vessel is set to visit 19 destinations in 14 countries before returning to Japan in April.
Upon departing from Yokohama, the Mitsui Ocean Fuji visited Saipan, Bora Bora, Majuro and Papeete while on its way to Easter Island.
After visiting the island, the cruise continued with visits to ports of call in Peru, Chile and Argentina, such as Callao, Punta Arenas, and Ushuaia.
The 2009-built vessel then sailed around Cape Horn for calls to Buenos Aires and Port Stanley before continuing to Brazil.
Arriving in time for the Carnival celebrations, the Mitsui Ocean Fuji sailed to Rio de Janeiro and Recife, where it is seen in the photo shared by local port authorities.
The itinerary now shifts to destinations in the Caribbean, such as Bridgetown in Barbados and Willemstad in Curaçao.
Before transiting the Panama Canal, the 32,346-ton ship is also scheduled to sail to Cartagena de Indias in Colombia.
On its way back to Japan, the itinerary features visits to destinations in Costa Rica, the Mexican Riviera and Hawaii.
Once in Yokohama, the ship kicks off its 2025 schedule, which includes over 50 cruises departing from ports around Japan.
Originally built for Seabourn at the T. Mariotti shipyard in Italy, the Mitsui Ocean Fuji made its debut for the new Mitsui Ocean Cruises brand in December 2024.
The company recently announced that it acquired a second ship from the Seabourn fleet, the Seabourn Sojourn.
Currently chartered back to the Carnival Corporation brand, the 458-guest vessel is set to debut for Mitsui in mid-2026.
