The keel-laying ceremony for the Seven Seas Prestige, a new ship being built for Regent Seven Seas Cruises, took place on March 27 at Fincantieri’s Marghera shipyard in Venice. The vessel is set for delivery in 2026.
Attendees included Harry Sommer, president and CEO of Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings; Jason Montague, chief luxury officer of Regent Seven Seas Cruises; Patrik Dahlgren, executive vice president, chief vessel operations and newbuild officer, Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings; Daniele Fanara, Fincantieri’s senior vice president, newbuilding and after sales; and Marco Lunardi, senior vice president of the Marghera shipyard.
As part of maritime tradition, three commemorative coins were welded onto the ship’s keel, symbolizing good fortune and blessing for the vessel.
The Seven Seas Prestige will be the first ship in Regent Seven Seas Cruises’ new Prestige Class, following the Explorer series. The 77,000-gross-ton, 257-meter ship will accommodate approximately 850 guests in 434 suites. It will feature advanced environmental technologies, new accommodation categories and enhanced dining experiences.
