The Renaissance has resumed service for CFC this weekend after undergoing a six-week drydock in Germany.

After completing a New Year’s cruise earlier this year, the 1993-built ship sailed for the Lloyd Werft shipyard in Bremerhaven in early January.

As part of a major refurbishment project, the Renaissance underwent significant upgrades to its technical systems and green technologies.

The 15-million-euro refit included the addition of a new exhaust gas cleaning system, as well as steelwork and painting.

A shore power connection was also created to allow the ship to operate using land-sourced energy while docked in ports.

According to CFC, the Renaissance now meets the latest environmental standards and is able to sail anywhere in the world.

The ship was also prepared to sail in certain fjords in Norway where environmental regulations are the most stringent.

Before leaving the Lloyd Werft, the Renaissance got a new look as well, debuting a hull design that mixes elements of the liveries of CFC and Ambassador Cruise Line.

Now part of the Ambassador Group, the 1,258-guest vessel is sporting new purple and green stripes on its blue hull, as well as new funnel colors and logo.

After returning to France, the Renaissance welcomed guests back in Le Havre on Mar. 1, 2025, kicking off a cruise to Norway.

The 15-night itinerary features visits to Stavanger, Alesund, Trondheim, Bodo and Tromso, as well as Hammerfest.

Guests are also able to start the cruise at Zeebrugge in Belgium, which will serve as an alternate homeport for the ship for several sailings this year.

Before completing a summer season in Northern Europe, the Renaissance repositions to the Mediterranean in late August.

The vessel is then scheduled to debut in the Caribbean in November as part of a new fly-cruise schedule that will be operated in partnership with Ambassador Cruise Line and Corendon.
