As Virgin Voyages’ first cruise ship, the Scarlet Lady was delivered by Italian shipbuilder Fincantieri five years ago.

Built at the yard’s facility in Genoa Sestri Ponente, the 110,000-ton vessel officially joined Virgin’s fleet on Feb. 13, 2020.

The Scarlet Lady was then scheduled to embark on a series of introductory events before entering revenue service in Miami in mid-March 2020.

While a few events did take place in Europe, the ship’s inaugural season was cancelled due to the pandemic.

The Scarlet Lady only welcomed its first paying guests over a year after its delivery, kicking off a series of staycations in England.

Sailing from Portsmouth, the short inaugural season ran between August and September 2021 and included six sailings in the UK.

The ship then arrived in Miami in early October 2021, embarking on a series of four- and five-night cruises to the Caribbean and the Bahamas.

The year-round deployment included visits to Costa Maya and Amber Cove, as well as Virgin’s Beach Club in the island of Bimini.

After debuting in the Mediterranean in 2024, the Scarlet Lady is scheduled to return to Europe in 2025 for five- to 13-night itineraries departing from Spain, Italy, England and Iceland.

The deployment includes cruises to a wide range of destinations, including the Western Mediterranean, the British Isles, Iceland and Morocco.

In late November, the 2,770-guest vessel returns to Miami for short cruises to the Caribbean, Florida and the Bahamas.

The schedule features four- and five-night itineraries that visit Bimini, Key West, Cozumel, Grand Turk, Amber Cove and more.

Following the Scarlet Lady, Virgin Voyages took delivery of three additional ships: the Valiant Lady, the Resilient Lady and the Brilliant Lady.

Starting later this year, the vessels are scheduled to sail to more destinations around the world, including the East Coast, Alaska and the Panama Canal.
