The Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Sirmaur announced that it hosted the Industry Advisory Board (AIB) 3.0 meeting, which was attended by leaders from the travel and tourism industry.
The institute said in a press release that attendees included representatives from American Express GBT, Alike.io and FCM.
According to the IIM Sirmaur, the representatives enriched the proceedings, giving its students insights into the tourism sector.
The day commenced with a plantation drive near the academic block, and the dignitaries, faculty members and students planted saplings. This was followed by a conference for the institute’s leadership and industry representatives.
According to the institute, discussions focused on aligning the Tourism Management and Tourism, Travel and Hospitality Management curriculums with emerging industry trends.
The IIM Sirmaur said that the centerpiece of the event was the Roundtable Mentorship Workshop, which gave students the opportunity to engage in mentorship sessions with industry leaders.
The institute added that the discussions provided guidance, career advice and insights into the demands of the tourism sector, broadening student’s perspectives and equipping them with knowledge for the industry.
