Villa Vie Residence’s Odyssey recently arrived in South America as part of its three-and-a-half-year world cruise.

After departing from Europe in late September, the ship visited ports in the Atlantic and the Caribbean before transiting the Panama Canal in mid-December.

The Odyssey then sailed to destinations on South America’s Pacific Coast, including ports in Ecuador, Peru and Chile.

Ports of call visited included Manta, Puerto Bolívar, Guayaquil, Salaverry, Pisco, Matarani, Arica, Iquique and Valparaíso.

The 1993-built ship also sailed to Callao, where it remained docked for four days, as well as Puerto Montt and Castro.

Before sailing around Cape Horn and entering the Atlantic, the Odyssey is scheduled to offer scenic cruising in the Chilean fjords, as well as in the Strait of Magellan.

The itinerary features visits to additional destinations in Chile, such as Puerto Chacabuco and Punta Arenas.

After sailing to Ushuaia, the Odyssey heads north for ports of call in the Falkland Islands and the Patagonia region.

In February, the ship arrives in the River Plate delta for stops in Uruguay and Argentina, before continuing to Brazil and the Amazon.

Over 15 Brazilian ports will be visited over a 40-day timeframe, including Rio de Janeiro, Santos, Recife, Natal and Manaus.

The itinerary also includes a visit to Devil’s Island, French Guiana, before returning to the Caribbean in early April.

Previously operated by Fred. Olsen Cruise Lines, the Odyssey was acquired by Villa Vie Odyssey in late 2023.

After several months in a drydock in Northern Ireland, the former Braemar debuted a unique product that allows passengers, who can purchase their own “villas,” to live onboard the ship.

The 977-guest ship also underwent a major refurbishment that included updates to technical aspects and upgrades to public areas, including the creation of an office area available for guests.
