Norwegian Cruise Line cancelled all of the scheduled visits of the Norwegian Epic to the Greek island of Corfu in 2025.
According to reports in local media, the ship was set to visit the destination approximately 17 times between May and October.
In a statement sent to booked guests, Norwegian said that itinerary changes may take place due to a number of reasons, including port congestion, maintenance work and external events.
“While unfortunately changes may arise, please rest assured that we are always working hard to provide you with a smooth and enjoyable journey,” the company said.
“We recognize the importance that destinations play in our guests’ vacation planning and decision-making process. Please rest assured that these modifications were made with an optimal guest experience top of mind,” Norwegian added.
Instead of Corfu, the Norwegian Epic is now set to visit different destinations in Greece, including Argostoli and Katakolon.
As a result, several sailings had their itineraries adjusted to accommodate the new ports of call, changing select port days and times.
Some of the cruises replaced their planned visits to Corfu with a day cruising in the Eastern Mediterranean.
Other itineraries also dropped additional ports of call, including the Oct. 1, 2025, sailing, which will no longer visit Naples, Italy.
Spending the 2025 summer in Southern Europe, the Norwegian Epic is scheduled to sail a series of nine- to 11-night cruises to France, Greece, Malta and Italy.
The itineraries sail roundtrip from Civitavecchia and feature visits to various destinations in the region, such as Cannes, Piraeus, Santorini, Mykonos and Messina.
Other ports of call set to be visited include Salerno, Syracuse, Livorno, Naples, Catania, Heraklion and Valletta.
Upon completing its deployment in the Mediterranean, the Norwegian Epic is set to reposition to San Juan in November for a winter season in the Southern Caribbean.
