TUI Cruises newest ship, the Mein Schiff Relax is set to be christened in Málaga on April 9, 2025, according to a company statement.
The ceremony will feature a special open-air performance by Robbie Williams, who was named the ship’s feel-good ambassador in 2024.
In a company first, the sister ships Mein Schiff 5 and Mein Schiff 7 will serve as godmothers for the Mein Schiff Relax. Guests from all three ships will have the opportunity to experience the special event, with the concert and the christening already included in the travel price.
The ceremony will include the traditional champagne bottle smashing, accompanied by a light and stage show. Guests sailing on all three ships will enjoy the traditional christening dinner, celebratory cocktail and more. Culinary delicacies from the Mein Schiff Relax will also be served on the other two ships for the occasion.
The Mein Schiff 5 starts its journey in Tenerife, visiting Madeira and Lisbon before reaching Málaga on April 9 for the special event. The Mein Schiff 7 begins its journey in Gran Canaria, arriving in Málaga on April 9 for the ceremony.
Starting in March, the Mein Schiff Relax will offer a series of seven- to ten-night cruises to the Western Mediterranean, featuring destinations such as Spain, Italy, France and Morocco.
