Carnival Corporation brought holiday cheer to Caribbean communities with a series of festive events for children and families in December, according to a press release.
In Grand Bahama, Carnival partnered with the Royal Bahamas Police Force on December 7 to host a Christmas celebration featuring caroling, a tree-lighting ceremony and a giveaway. Families enjoyed free food, crafts and visits from Christmas characters.
In Grand Turk, the Carnival Vista hosted 79 students and staff from Eliza Simons Primary School on December 11 for a ship tour, lunch and gifts from Santa. The event was attended by representatives from the Grand Turk Cruise Center and highlighted community connection during the holiday season.
On December 13, P&O Cruises’ Britannia welcomed 20 students from St. Mary’s Primary School in Barbados for a Christmas caroling event. The students performed traditional carols in the ship’s Atrium, followed by a special afternoon tea.
The holiday initiatives concluded on December 17, when a 15-member team from the Carnival Horizon volunteered at St. Ann’s Bay Regional Hospital, bringing cheer to children by reading, handing out toys donated by Chukka Caribbean Adventures and singing carols. The effort, supported by Chukka Foundation and JAMVAC, earned praise from the hospital’s CEO and the Mayor of St. Ann’s Bay.
