The Asuka III, NYK Cruises’ newest ship, is leaving the building hall in Papenburg this Saturday, Jan. 18.
According to an update from Meyer Werft, the maneuver is expected to start around 10 a.m.
Following that, the Asuka III will be moved to the outfitting dock where it will stay for a few more weeks and have its funnel installed.
The 744-guest ship is set for its Ems River transfer in early March, with the exact date still subject to change.
Following the Ems conveyance the ship will undergo deep-sea trials on the North Sea to ensure it meets all technical requirements. Once the tests are completed, the Asuka III will be delivered to NYK Cruises ahead of its summer 2025 season in Asia.
The new Asuka III is expected to debut ahead of the 2025 summer cruise season, offering itineraries to the Far East and East Asia.
