Adora Cruises has announced the appointment of Chen Ranfeng as its Chief Executive Officer.
The company said in a press release that Ranfeng will take full responsibility for its operational management and lead the company into the next growth phase.
Ranfeng was the CEO when the company was founded. According to Adora Cruises, he made significant contributions in building up the company from scratch by recruiting all the talents, designing the systems and overseeing the operations of the Adora Magic City and Adora Mediterranea.
“I am honored to once again lead Adora Cruises into a new exciting chapter,” said Ranfeng. “Adora Cruises is an ambitious cruise company with full-functioning operation capabilities. Alongside our trusted and valued partners, our focus remains on delivering exceptional cruise vacation experiences tailored to the Chinese market.”
“We will continue to contribute to the growth of the Chinese cruise industry, expand our fleet, optimize deployment and enrich our onboard offerings,” added Ranfeng.
From July 2024, Ranfeng served as senior advisor to the board of directors. Ranfeng was then chairman of Carnival Corporation in China since January 2016, leading the cooperation between Carnival Corporation and China State Shipbuilding Group.
Following its recent capital injection in Adora Cruises, China Cruises Limited will hold a 65 percent stake while CSSC Cruise Technology Development Co., Ltd. will hold 35 percent of Adora Cruises.
According to Adora, this partnership will further strengthen its position in the market and contribute to the development of China’s cruise industry.
Established in December 2023, China Cruises is a shareholding company led by China Tourism Group.
Adora Cruises said that it will continue to operate as an independent brand. It currently operates two ships serving nearly 500,000 domestic and international guests.
The Adora Flora City, the second Chinese-built large cruise ship, is currently undergoing final assembly and is expected to be delivered in late 2026, commencing international itineraries from China.
