TUI Cruises is cancelling three repositioning cruises that were scheduled to cross the Red Sea in late 2025 onboard the Mein Schiff 4, Mein Schiff 5 and Mein Schiff 6.
The sailings are no longer going ahead due to security concerns in the region.
Instead of sailing between Europe and Asia via the Middle East, the ships are now scheduled to reposition via Africa and the Indian Ocean.
In addition to the original repositioning cruises, other sailings had to be cancelled to accommodate the new voyages.
For the Mein Schiff 4, the cancellations include all cruises previously scheduled to depart between Oct. 1 and Nov. 3, 2025.
Cruises initially planned for the Mein Schiff 5 between Nov. 7 and Dec. 13, 2025, are also not going ahead.
Affected sailings onboard the Mein Schiff 6 include all cruises originally scheduled to sail between Oct. 19 and Nov. 26, 2025.
In addition to a full refund of the fare paid for the cruises, TUI is offering guests a ten percent discount on a new booking in the form of a future cruise credit.
Passengers who choose to book one of the new repositioning cruises via Africa, which are scheduled to open for bookings soon, will receive a further ten percent discount.
The new itineraries are expected to sail around the African coast with visits to destinations in South Africa, Namibia, Réunion, Mauritius and more.
After completing summer deployments in Europe, the Mein Schiff 4 and the Mein Schiff 5 are set to reposition to the Arabian Gulf for the winter.
Sailing to the United Arab Emirates, Qatar, Oman and more, the vessels are set to offer seven-night cruises departing from Dubai and Doha.
The Mein Schiff 6 is scheduled to spend the 2025-26 winter season in Southeast Asia and the Far East, operating longer cruises from Singapore, Hong Kong and Yokohama.
