Sebastian von Hardenberg has been appointed CEO of Bernhard Schulte Shipmanagement (BSM), effective January 1, 2025, the company announced in a press release.
Currently serving as BSM’s Chief Financial Officer, he will succeed Ian Beveridge, who will remain CEO of the Schulte Group and take on the role of chairman of the BSM board to provide strategic support.
Beveridge said: “As the long-standing CFO of BSM and current Vice President of InterManager, Sebastian knows the company and the industry exceptionally well and has built a proven track record in various positions within the Schulte Group. I am confident that his experience and capabilities make him the ideal choice to pursue and advance BSM’s strategic and organizational development in the years ahead.”
Von Hardenberg joined the Schulte Group in 2005 and has since held several leadership roles, including Head of Controlling at Bernhard Schulte, Financial Director at BSM Germany and Chief Financial Officer of BSM since 2015, following key positions in Hong Kong, Cyprus, and Singapore.
Von Hardenberg added: “I am honored by the trust placed in me and look forward to the challenges and opportunities ahead. The shipping industry is undergoing fundamental change. Issues such as digital transformation, increasing decarbonization requirements, and the shortage of skilled workers are having a lasting impact on the market. I look forward to driving BSM’s strategy forward during a time where transition and constant change are essential.”
