Royal Caribbean International CEO Shares His Top 2024 Moments

Icon of the Seas

Royal Caribbean International CEO Michael Bayley shared his highlights for 2024, with the launch of the world’s largest cruise ship, the Icon of the Seas, topping the list.

The 5,610-guest ship debuted in January from PortMiami, offering week-long Caribbean and Bahamas sailings.

“This was the moment we had been waiting for – over a decade in the making – and it was nothing short of legendary! We made headlines around the world,” wrote Bayley on Facebook.

“Icon of the Seas has forever transformed the vacation world! I couldn’t be prouder of our crew’s hard work and dedication every day on Icon.”

He also acknowledged Rover, the Icon’s chief dog officer, who resides aboard the ship.

“I am beyond grateful to everyone who helped make this dream a reality. Here’s to many more groundbreaking moments and unforgettable adventures in 2025.”

Bayley highlighted the 2024 President’s Cruise as another significant moment of 2024.

“It was truly epic to sail around the Mediterranean on Oasis of the Seas with our most loyal guests,” said Bayley, adding that he could never forget the outstanding performance by Boy George, describing it as an incredible experience.
