MSC Cruises is making changes to its unlimited beverage package options, which include the adoption of a new daily drink limit.
According to the company’s U.S. website, the Easy and Easy Plus Packages are being discontinued and will no longer be available for purchase starting on Dec. 18, 2024.
“Our new beverage packages that come into effect from April 1, 2025 reflect our commitment to maintaining a high-quality and enjoyable experience for everyone. The new packages include 15 alcoholic beverages per day and unlimited non-alcoholic options for our guests,” said a MSC spokesperson.
Guests who booked these packages prior to Dec. 18, 2024 will still receive the prepaid package once onboard, MSC added.
The discontinued unlimited beverage packages included a selection of mixed drinks and cocktails, as well as spirits, house wines, beer, soft drinks, bottled water and hot drinks.
MSC is also changing its Premium Extra Package, which will now be the company’s only alcohol-inclusive beverage package.
According to MSC, the premium-priced option includes top-tier brands, high-end cocktails and all non-alcoholic options.
For all sailings starting on April 1, 2025, the previously unlimited package will feature a new daily cap for alcoholic beverages.
“As part of our ongoing commitment to ensuring a safe and enjoyable experience for all our guests, we have updated our Premium Extra Package to include a maximum of 15 alcoholic beverages per day, per guest,” MSC explained.
“This change is designed to promote responsible enjoyment and enhance the quality of service,” the company added.
Any alcoholic beverages beyond the limit, which will be reset at 6 AM, will need to be purchased at full price, MSC said.
Guests staying in the company’s Yacht Club suite enclave will also receive the Premium Extra Package as part of their all-inclusive product.
While the daily limit on alcoholic beverages will apply to drinks ordered outside the Yacht Club area, they will still be able to enjoy an unlimited experience in the private areas of the ship-within-a-ship concept.
MSC Cruises also offers an unlimited alcohol-free beverage package, in addition to a minors package for guests aged 20 and younger.
