French Country Waterways is repositioning three of its four vessels for the 2025 season.
The Princess will now visit wineries and towns in Champagne, the Nenuphar will explore the Upper Loire while the Horizon II will sail through Alsace-Lorraine. The Adrienne will continue its usual route in Burgundy.
“Repositioning a higher capacity vessel in the Upper Loire allows us to better meet the current trends we are seeing in demand. This move also allows former guests who may favor one barge over another, to book their favorite on a new route,” said Glenn Carr, president of French Country Waterways.
Accommodating 8-12 guests, the vessels operate six-night sailings in each region from late March through October. Prices start at $8,195 per person based on double occupancy.
Highlights of each route include:
- Princess: Sails through Champagne, featuring wine tastings at Joseph Perrier, a visit to Reims and dining at the Michelin two-star Restaurant Le Parc Les Crayères.
- Nenuphar: Explores the Upper Loire, offering a private wine tasting in Sancerre, dining at the Michelin one-star Auberge des Templiers, and visiting artisan barrel makers and the Briare Aqueduct.
- Horizon II: Cruises Alsace-Lorraine, featuring wine tastings in Traenheim, dining at the Michelin two-star Villa René Lalique and visits to Nancy’s Art Nouveau architecture and the Chapel of the Cordeliers.
- Adrienne: Sails through Burgundy’s Côte d’Or wine region, with tastings near Chassagne-Montrachet and Beaune, a tour of Dijon and a Michelin three-star dinner at Maison Lameloise.
