Following Tuesday’s devastating earthquake in Vanuatu, Carnival Corporation donated $60,000 to ProMedical Vanuatu, a first responder organization.

The first responder team spent 48 hours after the earthquake in Port Vila searching for survivors and delivering essential medical care to the injured.

The company stated that the donation was made possible through the collective efforts of Carnival Corporation cruise lines operating in the region, including Carnival Cruise Line, Princess Cruises, Holland America Line, Seabourn, Cunard and P&O Cruises Australia, along with the generosity of P&O guests.

“Our donation will help ensure our long-term partner ProMedical has everything they need to undertake their lifesaving work and to continue ongoing care to the people of Vanuatu,” said a Carnival Corporation spokesperson.

“We have also offered our ships for practical, physical assistance if needed and remain in contact with the Vanuatu National Disaster Management Office and other aid agencies.”

The company reaffirmed its commitment to supporting the community during the recovery process, expressing hope to resume visits to Port Vila once the community is ready, adding, “Our thoughts are with everyone affected by this disaster.”
