Oceania’s Nautica Opens Cruise Season in Manaus, Brazil

Nautica Manaus

The cruise season in the Brazilian port of Manaus started earlier this month with a visit from Oceania Cruises’ Nautica.

Offering a 24-night cruise to the Amazon and the Caribbean, the vessel docked at the destination on Nov. 21, 2024.

According to the local government, between guests and crew members, Manaus hosted 1,100 from the ship.

To greet guests, the town put together a cultural presentation, which included a marching band from the Vila da Barra Musical Institute. Passengers also received maps of the city’s attractions and bilingual assistance at a tourist information center located at the port.

In addition to the Nautica, Manaus is set to receive 16 cruise ships during the 2024-25 season. The vessels are expected to bring nearly 20,000 passengers to the city.

“Throughout this season, we will welcome many tourists who will be able to enjoy and experience the beauty of Manaus,” said the President of the Manaus Tourism Office, Jender Lobato.

He also highlighted the town’s welcoming reception for guests at the port, adding that the Manaus Tourism Office is investing in attracting more cruise passengers.

“We know that every time a tourist comes to Manaus, they not only leave money here, contributing financially to the city, but they also take the name of Manaus to other places,” he added.

Sailing roundtrip from Miami, Nautica’s cruise included visits to four additional destinations in Brazil’s Amazon region, as well as nine ports of call in the Caribbean.

After a visit from Regent’s Seven Seas Mariner on Nov. 29, Manaus is set to receive Oceania’s Sirena on Dec. 10 and Viking’s Viking Sea on Dec. 13, 2024.

Set to end on May 3, 2025, the cruise season at the Brazilian port also includes vessels from P&O Cruises, Holland America Line, Azamara, Silversea, Hapag-Lloyd Cruises and more.
