Norwegian Cruise Line is making significant modifications to the 2025 itineraries for the Norwegian Spirit in Asia.
In a recent statement, the company informed guests of several changes to an 11-night cruise scheduled for July 16, 2025.
In addition to starting from a different port, the voyage saw six of its seven ports of call replaced.
Starting in Taiwan, the original itinerary was scheduled to depart from Keelung before visiting Kaohsiung and Hualien.
The Norwegian Spirit was then set to visit Hong Kong before arriving in Japan for visits to Miyako-Jima, Naha, Kobe and Shimizu.
An open-jaw itinerary, the cruise also featured two days at sea before ending with an overnight call at the Port of Tokyo.
Other than the overnight call in Tokyo, the only destination that remains on the new itinerary is Shimizu, which serves as a starting point for tours to Mount Fuji.
According to Norwegian’s statement, the sailing is now scheduled to start in South Korea, departing from Incheon.
Instead of heading to Taiwan and China, the cruise now features a visit to Jeju in South Korea before arriving in Japan for a series of new ports of call.
With no days at sea, the new itinerary includes visits to Nagasaki, Kagoshima, Hiroshima, Kochi, Himeji, Osaka, Nagoya and Shimizu before ending in Tokyo.
Earlier this year, Norwegian Cruise Line also made significant changes to other sailings on the Norwegian Spirit in the region.
One of the cruises that underwent considerable changes is the Dec. 10, 2024, departure, which was scheduled to start in Manila.
Now set to depart from Hong Kong, the 12-night itinerary sails to the Philippines, Taiwan and Japan and has had dates for most of its ports of call changed.
In addition to an additional port of call, the new itinerary saw one destination replaced, with Taichung taking the place of Hualien in the new itinerary.
The open-jaw cruise is now starting with an overnight in Hong Kong before visiting Coron, Puerto Princesa, Boracay, Kaohsiung, Taichung, Miyako-Jima, Naha and Ishigaki. As initially scheduled, the itinerary ends in Keelung, Taiwan.
