Dominica welcomed the first call of the Villa Vie Odyssey for the 2024-25 season on Thursday, Nov. 20, at the Roseau Cruise Ship Berth.
To commemorate the ship’s inaugural visit, a plaque exchange ceremony was held onboard.
As of November 12, 2024, Dominica has received 14 cruise ships, bringing 27,871 visitors to the island.
Of these, 23,530 disembarked to explore local attractions, with 9,895 participating in guided tours.
December is expected to see a surge in activity, with 49 ships and approximately 65,752 passengers anticipated.
The Ministry of Tourism anticipates 236 cruise calls for the 2024-25 season, including 11 inaugural visits from new ships. Efforts to improve visitor experiences include upgrading the Bayfront vending area, advancing the Cable Car Project and plans to expand the Bayfront pier to accommodate increased cruise traffic.
