Disney Launches ‘Treasure Tomorrow’ Program for Future Careers

Arrival of the Disney Treasure

To celebrate the arrival of the new Disney Treasure in Port Canaveral earlier this week, Disney Cruise Line (DCL) has launched Treasure Tomorrow, a new program aimed at fostering career exploration and community-building across Florida and the Caribbean.

“We are proud to continue our longstanding relationship with the Canaveral Port Authority and Brevard County,” said Sharon Siskie, senior vice president and general manager of Disney Cruise Line. “And what better way for all of us to welcome our brand-new Disney Treasure with the launch of the ‘Treasure Tomorrow’ program, inspiring students in our port communities across Florida, The Bahamas and throughout the Caribbean to discover a variety of exciting career paths and gain the tools needed to pursue their dreams.”

In collaboration with the Brevard Schools Foundation, DCL is offering local students the chance to explore the new ship. Students will meet Disney cast and crew members, learn about maritime careers and discover the ship’s adventures. Disney will also sponsor career exploration programs focused on maritime, tourism, hospitality and entertainment industries to inspire students interested in these fields.

“At Brevard Schools Foundation, we believe in the transformative power of engaging communities in our mission and are incredibly proud to work with Disney Cruise Line to further support students in our community,” said Janice Kershaw, president and CEO of Brevard Schools Foundation. “With Disney Cruise Line’s generous gift through its Treasure Tomorrow program, deserving and motivated at-risk youth will be empowered with tools to help them succeed in college, their careers and in life. Together with Disney Cruise Line, we’re helping to break the cycle of poverty through education.”

The cruise line is expanding its community support throughout the Caribbean. In Falmouth, the U.S. Virgin Islands, Grand Cayman, and Abaco, Disney Cruise Line sponsors Junior Achievement programs to inspire future innovators. In St. Thomas, the company collaborates with the School Kids in the Park (SKIP) program to educate students about conservation, coral reefs, and marine life. In Tortola, Disney partners with the Youth Empowerment Project and the LEAD program to guide high school students toward careers and leadership roles in hospitality.
