Costa Cruises is introducing the “Costa Voyages Special Edition” sailings aboard the Costa Smeralda, offering two exclusive itineraries that explore Africa, according to a press release.
The first cruise departs from Genoa on November 15, 2024, and arrives in Dubai on December 21, 2024.
The reverse journey will depart from Dubai on March 1, 2025, and return to Genoa on April 7, 2025. Over the 36-day voyage, the Costa Smeralda will visit destinations across Western Africa, including Namibia (Walvis Bay), South Africa (Cape Town and Port Elizabeth), the Canary Islands (Santa Cruz de Tenerife), Mauritius, and Oman (Muscat).
The “Costa Voyages Special Edition” cruises will feature a wellness program in partnership with Technogym. The inclusive program includes weekly check-ups with Technogym fitness equipment, classes led by their instructors, wellness seminars and access to the Technogym App for personalized training. Guests can opt for a “Premium Health” package for a more tailored experience, which includes personal training, a customized exercise plan, exclusive gifts and nutritional guidance.
Additionally, Costa offers “Sea Destinations” for stargazing during the cruise, as the ship sails through the Atlantic and Indian Oceans. The itineraries promise various land experiences, with multi-day tours such as a three-day experience on the Garden Route, which connects Port Elizabeth to Cape Town. A three-day safari will also be available, exploring Southern Africa with expert rangers and observing the continent’s wildlife, including lions, leopards, rhinoceroses, African elephants and buffalo. The experience includes an overnight stay in a fully equipped suite.
Guests aboard the Costa Smeralda can choose from two immersive experiences: a two-day stay at the 7,500-hectare Lalibela Game Reserve or a three-day excursion in the Namibian desert.
