The Carnival Pride’s current itinerary is being impacted by a tropical depression that is moving towards the Caribbean and Bermuda.

After departing from Baltimore on Aug. 11, the Carnival Cruise Line ship is offering a seven-night cruise to King’s Wharf, Bermuda.

According to a statement sent to guests onboard, the storm is expected to travel upwards in the Atlantic, potentially impacting the weather in Bermuda.

“In partnership with our Fleet Operations Center in Miami, we are actively monitoring a tropical depression which is moving in a northwesterly direction towards the Caribbean,” the letter stated.

“Later this week, it is set to turn and travel upwards in the Atlantic, possibly impacting weather in Bermuda. To stay ahead of the storm, we have revised our plans for visiting the island,” it continued.

Previously scheduled to arrive on Aug. 14, the Carnival Pride is now expected to dock in King’s Wharf this afternoon, at 5:00 PM.

After spending 48 hours at the destination, the 2,100-guest ship will now leave Bermuda on Aug. 15 at 5:00 PM. Original plans had the Carnival Pride leaving King’s Wharf at noon on Aug. 16.

“We know this weather-related change will impact your plans but trust you understand this decision was made with everyone’s safety in mind,” the statement, which was signed by the ship’s Captain Renato Bendinelli, added.

The company’s shore excursions for the destination will be automatically adjusted to the newly revised schedule.

“We will always remain a safe distance from the storm, but in the event we encounter any movement to the ship, our highly trained and experienced officers and I will do everything possible to minimize any discomfort,” the captain of the Carnival Pride added.

After two full days at sea, the Carnival Pride is expected to return to its homeport in Baltimore on Aug. 18.

At least two other ships are being impacted by inclement weather in the Caribbean this week, including Royal Caribbean’s Icon of the Seas and Norwegian Cruise Line’s Breakaway.
