Oceania Cruises announced its new collaboration with the American Cancer Society (ACS) to launch the ACS Relay For Life at Sea program.
The program made its debut on the new Vista, as well as aboard the Insignia, currently sailing its 180-day Around The World Cruise. It will be rolled out across the entire fleet in the coming months, aiming to raise $150,000 for ACS by the end of the year, according to a press release.
“We are incredibly excited to launch our collaboration with the American Cancer Society and introduce the Relay For Life at Sea program to our valued guests and crew,” said Frank A. Del Rio, president of Oceania Cruises.
“This initiative reflects Oceania Cruises’ commitment not only to delivering exceptional travel experiences but also to making a positive impact in the communities we touch, consistently aiming to foster a spirit of unity. We look forward to seeing not only our guests, but our officers and team members, come together to celebrate survivors, honor those we’ve lost, and contribute to the fight against cancer.”
Inspired by the original 1985 Relay For Life event, guests will walk as many laps as possible on the ship’s fitness track in a friendly competition. Current and future guests can register at www.cancer.org/relayforlifeatsea or scan the QR code in Oceania’s onboard newsletter, Currents, with a minimum donation of $25 required.
At the end of the voyage, Oceania Cruises will host a final gathering where participants can share their achievements and receive special recognition and prizes for winners in various age groups.
