First in a series of six upscale cruise ships, the Explora I is set to enter service this month.
Marking the operational debut of the new Explora Journeys brand, the 920-guest vessel will offer a series of mixed itineraries during its inaugural season, covering Northern Europe, the Atlantic, the North America East Coast and more.

Maiden Voyage
Date: July 17,2023

Homeports: Southampton (England) to Copenhagen (Denmark)
Complete Itinerary: Zeebrugge (Belgium); Skagen (Denmark); Hellesylt, Geiranger, Trondheim, Molde, Gravdal, Bronnoysund, Flam, Bergen and Stavanger (Norway)
For its inaugural voyage, the Explora I is offering a 15-night cruise in Northern Europe. With calls to 12 ports in four countries, the itinerary was named “A Maiden Journey into Epic Fjords and the Arctic Circle,” and sails from Southampton, in England.
According to Explora Journeys, the cruise will allow guests to “immerse themselves in local cultures, both on and off the beaten path, as well as witnessing some of the world’s most astonishing natural wonders.”
United Kingdom & Ireland
Date: August 24, 2023
Length: Nine nights
Homeports: Southampton (England) to Greenock (Scotland)
Complete Itinerary: Edinburgh (Scotland); Newcastle and Liverpool (England); Portree (Isle of Skye); and Londonderry (Northern Ireland)
Explora I’s inaugural season also includes itineraries to the British Islands. Setting sail in late August, this nine-night cruise visits five different destinations in the region.
The one-way itinerary departs from Southampton and sails to Greenock after visits to Edinburgh, Newcastle and Liverpool. The cruise also features a stop in the Isle of Sky, in addition to an unusual visit to Londonderry, a historic city in Northern Ireland.
Iceland & Greenland Journey
Date: September 9, 2023

Homeports: Reykjavik (Iceland) to New York City (United States)
Complete Itinerary: Akureyri and Isafjord (Iceland); Paamiut, Nuuk and Qaqortoq (Greenland); Sydney and Saint John (Canada)
On its way to the United States, the Explora I offers a unique itinerary to Greenland, Iceland and Canada & New England.
Sailing from Reykjavik to New York City, the 16-night voyage includes visits to seven different ports of call, including Paamiut, a less visited cruise destination in Greenland, and Isafjord, a popular port in Iceland.
North American East Coast Journey
Date: September 25, 2023
Length: Eight nights
Homeports: New York City (United States) to Quebec City (Canada)
Complete Itinerary: Boston (United States); and Saint John (Canada)
For its debut in North America, the Explora I offers an eight-night cruise to Canada & New England. With overnights in both its starting and ending ports, the one-way itinerary sails from New York City to Quebec City.
Before entering the St. Lawrence Seaway, the ship also pays visits to Boston – where it is set to remain docked for over 14 hours – and Saint John.
Autumn Leaves & Palm Trees

Complete Itinerary: Gaspe, Halifax and Sain John (Canada); Portland, New York City and Port Canaveral (United States)
Completing its inaugural season, the Explora I is set to embark on a repositioning voyage to Florida in late October. Named “Autumn Leaves & Palm Trees along the Atlantic Coast,” the one-way cruise sails from Quebec City to Miami.
Sailing for 14 nights, the itinerary features visits to ports in the St. Lawrence River, in addition to New England, New York and Florida.
