Ultra Fog Catches Up with Projects Post COVID

After COVID-19 stopped or postponed most projects, Ultra Fog has been catching up with new jobs when it comes to developing and servicing high-pressure sprinkler systems.

Ann Micheli, managing director at Ultra Fog said: “Ultra Fog is currently active in a number major yards across Europe, for a number of cruise ships owners, such as Royal Caribbean.

“As the cruise passengers come back up to capacity, Ultra Fog will continue to service, supply new and refurb ships, and follow this trend closely,” she added.

Micheli said that the market is slowly coming back post-pandemic.

“With the industry kicking back into gear, we know that the drydock part of our work will follow forthwith. We are seeing that, in contrast to expectations, the cruise industry is investing in new ships and refits, following the earlier decommissioning of older vessels during the COVID and immediate post-COVID period.”

Micheli said that Ultra Fog currently has multiple requests from cruise lines at the moment. The company ensures that each project is customized and designed for each particular vessel.

“When providing turnkey solutions, our installation teams are flexible and able to fit efficiently into the customer’s build or refit program.”

Andrea Davanzo, Ultra Fog’s director of business development revealed that the company’s calendar is pretty booked for the immediate future.

“We do of course anticipate that the next few years for drydock fit outs will be affected by the same difficulties in supply chain that other industries are facing due to the post-COVID economic downturn and war in Ukraine, but as long as passengers continue to cruise, the industry, and our part of that will thrive.”

Davanzo explained that when it comes to project timelines, these can differ depending on the size of the vessel, location and customer’s program for scheduled drydocks and refits.

“Ultra Fog performs risk analysis and monitors on a rolling basis to ensure that stocks and delivery schedules can be optimized and maintained. Certainly, the ability to provide turnkey solutions helps Ultra Fog control these processes. In our book, the customer always comes first!”

Delivering on time and meeting a client’s expectations is high on Ultra Fog’s list, according to Davanzo.

“In addition to ongoing monitoring of stock and efficient supply chain management, Ultra Fog’s dedicated and experienced project managers ensure a clear line of communication with the customer, a factor which most certainly enhances our ability to meet expectations.”
