Crystal Kicks Off Celestyal 2023 Program in the Eastern Mediterranean

Celestyal Crystal

The Celestyal Crystal is kicking off Ceslestyal Cruises’ 2023 season today.

Sailing roundtrip from Piraeus, the vessel is starting a series of seven-night cruises in the Eastern Mediterranean.

In March, the vessel offers a regular itinerary named “Three Continents.” Visiting Greece, Israel, Egypt and Turkey, the week-long cruise includes stops in Kusadasi, Rhodes, Limassol, Ashdod and Port Said.

Starting on April 1, the Crystal switches to the “Eclectic Aegean” itinerary. Also sailing roundtrip from Piraeus, the seven-night cruise features visits to more destinations in Greece and Turkey, including Santorini, Volos, Thessaloniki, Kavala and Istanbul.

Extending through late December, the ship’s program includes additional itineraries in the Eastern Mediterranean with visits to destinations such as Mykonos, Milos, Patmos, Heraklion, Dikili and more.

Originally built as a cruise ferry in 1980, the Celestyal Crystal was transformed into a cruise ship in the early 1990s.

As part of Celestyal’s 2023 program, the Crystal is set to be joined in service by the Celestyal Olympia later this month.

Also sailing from Piraeus, the 1981-built cruise ship is set to offer a series of three- and four-night itineraries to Greece and Turkey starting on March 11.

The ship’s port-intensive short cruises feature visits to Rhodes, Santorini, Patmos, Kusadaki, Mykonos, Heraklion and more.

After being acquired from Seajets, a third cruise ship joined the Celestyal Cruises fleet in February. Originally built for Holland America Line as the Ryndam, the Celestyal Journey is presently laid up in Lavrio.

The 1993-built vessel is set to undergo an extensive, $21 million refurbishment before launching service for its new operator. Details regarding itineraries will be announced at a later date, Celestyal said.
