Ponant and The Explorers Club Announce Collaboration

Le Commandant Charcot

Ponant has announced a new collaboration with The Explorers Club to offer 12 expeditions in Antarctica and the Arctic and in the Pacific and Indian Oceans.

Sharing common values which focus on explorations and field research, The Explorers Club, and Ponant will lead 12 expeditions in the above-mentioned regions between 2024 and 2026.

The Explorers Club will also host a speaker series focused on research and exploration.

They will also sponsor ten scientists per year aboard Ponant’s Le Commandant Charcot, the world’s only luxury icebreaker.

The weeks-long expeditions will take adventurers to the world’s most remote corners such as the Geographic North Pole, Papua New Guinea, and the depths of Antarctica. Additionally, the voyages will feature VIP speakers including circumpolar archaeologists and geoscientists who will tell stories from their adventures and share details from their research.

Five out of the 12 expeditions planned will feature scientists onboard who will share their findings in glaciology, oceanography, and geology. They will also lead scientific research initiatives. Guests will have the opportunity to enjoy all of this aboard the Le Commandant Charcot, which also serves as a floating research center with a laboratory.
