A Look at the Carnival Magic’s New Itineraries from Norfolk

With the new Carnival Venezia taking over Carnival Cruise Line’s NYC program, the Carnival Magic is set to offer an extended summer season sailing from Norfolk in 2023.

Cruise Industry News takes a closer look at the ship’s sailings from the Virginia homeport and its itineraries.

Ten-Night Eastern Caribbean
Date: June 14, 2023
Length: Ten nights
Homeport: Norfolk (United States)
Complete Itinerary: Grand Turk (Turks and Caicos); Amber Cove (Dominican Republic); San Juan (Puerto Rico); Philipsburg (St. Maarten); and St. Thomas (U.S. Virgin Islands)

As part of its new program out of Norfolk, the Carnival Magic is set to offer a ten-night cruise to the Eastern Caribbean.

Sailing roundtrip from the Virginia homeport, the itinerary features visits to five popular different destinations, such as St. Maarten, St. Thomas and Puerto Rico. In addition to four days at sea, the cruise also includes San Juan and Amber Cove as ports of call.

Six-Night Bermuda
Dates: Three departures in August and September 2023
Length: Six nights
Homeport: Norfolk (United States)
Complete Itinerary: King’s Wharf (Bermuda)

In 2023, the Carnival Magic is sailing to Bermuda from Norfolk as well. Between August and September, the vessel offers a total of three six-night cruises to the island.

According to Carnival’s website, the complete itinerary features a ten-hour visit to King’s Wharf, as well as four full days at sea.

Eight-Night Canada & New England
Date: October 14, 2023
Length: Eight nights
Homeport: Norfolk (United States)
Complete Itinerary: Portland (United States); Saint John, Halifax and Sydney (Canada)

The Canada & New England region is also being visited by the Carnival Magic during its 2023 Norfolk program.

On Oct. 14, the vessel departs on an eight-night cruise to the region that includes visits to three Canadian ports – Saint John, Halifax and Sydney – as well as Portland.

Six-Night Bahamas
Dates: Several departures in May, July and August 2023
Length: Six nights
Homeport: Norfolk (United States)
Complete Itinerary: Bimini, Freeport and Nassau (Bahamas)

In addition to short cruises, the Carnival Magic is also offering several six-night sailings to the Bahamas in May, July and August 2023.

Visiting three destinations in the country, the itineraries are highlighted by a visit to Bimini and also feature stops at Freeport and Nassau.

Eight-Night Eastern Caribbean
Dates: Different departures in June, July and August 2023
Length: 8 nights
Homeport: Norfolk (United States)
Complete Itinerary: Half Moon Cay (Bahamas); Grand Turk (Turks and Caicos); and Amber Cove (Dominican Republic)

The 2023 Norfolk program also includes several eight-night cruises to the Eastern Caribbean. Two different itineraries are available, including this one – which features visits to the Bahamas, Turks and Caicos and the Dominican Republic.

After leaving Norfolk, the Carnival Magic spends two full days at sea before arriving in Half Moon Cay for an eight-hour call. Continuing the cruise, the vessel visits Grand Turk and Puerto Plata and also spends two days at sea on its way back to its Virginia homeport.
