SunStone Ships announced it is making organizational changes as Christian Lund will take over the position as president of SunStone Ships.
Lund has been working within SunStone group companies in Miami for the past 14 years.
He has also previously been with ISP, FleetPro, CMI. At SunStone Ships, Lund will be responsible for group strategy and long-term planning. He will be instrumental in the further development of the company’s shipboard management strategy, focused on maximizing the skills, involvement, and empowerment of the onboard teams to ensure the best possible expedition fleet, the company said.
He takes over from Ulrik Hegelund who announced his decision to move back to Denmark for family reasons, according to a press release.
The company expressed its gratitude to Hegelund for four years as president in Miami revealing that as of January 1, Hegelund will take the position as CFO of SunStone Maritime Group.
At his new position, Hegelund will have the overall responsibility for the Group’s Accounting, Budgeting, Cash Flow, Reporting, Legal, and IT matters. SunStone’s Finance colleagues in the Miami and Madeira Offices will report to Hegelund.
